Day 1 – that time of year again when the range cows get released and if the back part of our property isn’t fenced off, they’d all be hanging out on our land. Not that we don’t mind it, our cows would be there, too. Not exactly sure what is so tasty on that part but we want to save the forage for our cows later in the season. (It’s probably the wild onion – one of their favorite foods.)

It is looking like it will be a dry year. The bulbous bluegrass is already going to seed and is super short. So off we go to set up some temporary hot (electric) fence to keep the bovines out.
